Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year is a self supported trail run held in San Diego on 20 February 2027 and organized by Best Runner Leaves No Tracks. The event is described as a fat ass or self support run with no fees, no awards, and no aid. Participants must navigate an unmarked single loop of about 51 miles with roughly 5,000 feet of cumulative ascent and descent on local trails.

The start and finish are at Canyonside Park Driveway, San Diego, CA 92126. The route passes several public refill and resupply points with approximate mile marks for the counter-clockwise routing: Old Pomerado Rd / Bette Brendixen Park water fountain (mile 5.7), Garden Rd Neighborhood Park water fountain and restroom (mile 11.5), Chevron and Shell gas stations at 215 Via Rancho Pkwy (mile 24.8), Lake Hodges Visitor Center (mile 28.4), and Paradise Produce Market on Del Dios Rd (mile 35). Some of these are commercial outlets and may have limited hours; the course planner notes no aid stations are provided.

Course files are available in common formats, including a Garmin course map and a GPX file, and the organizer recommends using navigation tools for route following. The event is held on the specified calendar date and requires on-course navigation and self support throughout. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
