Happy Chinese New Year Run : San Diego, Feb 20, 2027

This event is a self support trail run described as a "fat ass" format. There are no entry fees, no awards, and no organized aid. Participants must navigate the route and carry or arrange all supplies they need for the run.

The course is a single loop of about 51 miles with roughly 5,000 feet of cumulative ascent and descent. Most of the route follows trails around San Diego. There are no course markings, so navigation tools and route files are provided, including a Garmin course and a GPX file. Ridewithgps is recommended for navigation and route planning.

The start and finish location is listed as Canyonside Park Driveway, San Diego, CA 92126. The event is scheduled for February 20, 2027. Registration closes on February 10.

Several public resupply points are noted on the route with approximate mile marks for the counter-clockwise listing: Old Pomerado Road / Bette Brendixen Park (water fountain, mile 5.7), Garden Road Neighborhood Park (water and rest room, mile 11.5), Chevron and Shell gas stations near mile 24.8 (major location to buy water and food), Lake Hodges Visitor Center (store, mile 28.4), and Paradise Produce Market (mile 35, about 0.1 mile north of the course). The organizer emphasizes that no support or aid will be provided by the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
