Haldon Night

Haldon Night is a set of night trail races held in Haldon Forest near Exeter. The event offers multiple race distances on marked and marshalled forest routes; reflective poles and larger A4 arrows with orange reflective tape are used to mark the courses. Head torches or chest torches are required and a stronger, wider beam is recommended to see the markers. Parking is available on site but is payable.

Race distances include:

  • 10K single loop trail with a canicross option
  • 5K single loop trail, ages 12 or 8 if accompanied by an adult
  • 2K two laps for children aged 8-11
  • 1K one lap for children aged 3-7

Age rules and participant options are specified for each distance. Adults may run with children in the kids races at no additional charge. Routes have been adjusted to lie just over the official distances and both adult courses start and finish at the event arch.

Event services and facilities include professional RFID chip timing, full marshals, water and feed stations, public first aid, event caterers selling hot drinks and food, toilets, custom race numbers, free event photos, medals for all finishers, and prizes for overall and category winners. There are also special awards such as a hat competition and team prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
