Event Overview

Haldon Night is a running event held at Haldon Forest Park in Kennford. The event features single loop courses through the forest environment during the evening hours. Participants are required to bring and use either a head torch or a chest torch to navigate the routes.

Race Options

The event provides several distances for different age groups and interests:

  • 10 km - Open to runners aged 15 and over.
  • Canicross 10 km - A dedicated category for Those running with dogs.
  • 5 km - Open to participants aged 8 and over; children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • 2 km - Designed for children aged 8 to 11.
  • 1 km - Designed for children aged 3 to 8.

Parents are permitted to run alongside their children in the 1 km and 2 km races at no extra cost.

Facilities and Support

The courses are fully marked and managed by marshals. Professional RFID chip timing is used to record results for all participants, and prizes are awarded for category podium finishers. Trail runs nearby

Tough paired trail run across Dartmoor from the East Dart Inn in Postbridge, covering about 21 km with rugged climbs and sweeping moorland views. The third race in the Winter Pairs series, it is limited to 35 pairs and is pre entry only.

A Dartmoor fell racing day on 21 March 2026 that pairs the Okement Loop with the Devon AA county championships. The senior course is 14.3 km with 750 m ascent and mandatory kit; multiple junior races and county selection take place.

Cross Dartmoor from east to west on this 50km or 16 mile traverse featuring self navigation and live GPS tracking. Runners can participate solo or in teams and enjoy fully supported feed stations and a finish line medal.
