Gulf Winds Summer Trail Series

The Gulf Winds Summer Trail Series is a four-race competition held on various trails throughout Tallahassee. The series features courses that include rolling terrain, single track paths, and multi-use trails. Participants encounter technical sections characterized by rocks, roots, and tight turns.

The series consists of four specific events at different locations:

  • 5 miles at Oak Hammock Trail
  • 5 miles at Redbug Trail
  • 6 miles at Cadillac Trail
  • 6 miles at Maclay Gardens State Park

Registration for the series is limited to 150 runners. Participants who register for the full series receive one unisex short-sleeve t-shirt made of a cotton and polyester blend. For the morning events, bib pick-up is available on-site, with a separate session scheduled for the evening event. A new bib is issued to runners for each individual race in the series.

A championship award system is in place, based on a point structure where the best three race results count toward the final standings. Points are awarded to finishers from first place down to ninth place and above. In the event of a tie at the conclusion of the series, the winner is determined by the fastest time during the final race. Age categories are established based on the runner's age as of the first race date to ensure consistency across all four events. Water stations are typically positioned near the halfway mark of each course, though runners are encouraged to carry their own hydration bottles.
