The Greenwood Furnace Snowfest 5-miler is a trail race held in Huntingdon, PA, at Greenwood Furnace State Park (15795 Greenwood Road). The event is a 5-mile trail course that starts and finishes at Pavilion 7. The route passes Pavilion 8 to the Standing Stone/Monsell trailhead, climbs the east side of Monsell Trail to the Lorence Trail, then connects with Turkey Trail. Runners ascend switchbacks for about 900 feet to the top of Stone Mountain, turn left (north) onto the Standing Stone Trail, pass the Stone Valley Vista, and follow mostly downhill terrain for the final two miles back to Pavilion 7.

Registration closes January 10, 2026, and the deadline to guarantee a tech long-sleeve shirt is January 2, 2026.

SnowFest and community activities

SnowFest is an all-day park event held alongside the race. Listed activities include broomball, ice skating, free snowshoe trials, educational programs, a beach bonfire, winter camping, ice harvesting, animal track demonstrations, and fire-starting demonstrations. The event includes the annual Polar Plunge, which benefits the Juniata Valley YMCA; plunge participants must pre-register with the YMCA. The Friends of Greenwood Furnace Complex is the local group that supports the parks and helps organize community and conservation activities at the park.
