Course and format

This is a trail race that starts and finishes at Pavilion 7. The course runs past Pavilion 8 to the Standing Stone/Monsell trailhead, then climbs the east side of Monsell Trail to the Lorence Trail and connects with Turkey Trail. The route includes switchbacks and gains about 900 feet to the top of Stone Mountain, then turns north onto the Standing Stone Trail, passes the Stone Valley Vista, and returns mostly downhill for the final two miles back to Pavilion 7.

The event is organized by the Friends of Greenwood Furnace Complex, a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation that supports nearby state parks.
