Great Lakes Relay

The Great Lakes Relay is a three day relay race held across Michigan. The event is run by teams of ten participants who rotate running legs over the course of three days. The 2026 edition is scheduled for July 17 to 19, 2026. The race route travels through Michigan landscapes described as the outback and includes multiple divisions such as Mixed and Open.

Founded in 1992, the event states goals of promoting outdoor fitness, community engagement, and sustainability. Proceeds from the event support the Michigan Special Olympics and various local organizations. Registration for 2026 is open and individuals who want to join a team can be placed on a waitlist. Results are published for each year; 2025 results are available. The 2026 field will include returning division winners War to the Shore and Queen City Running Elite.
