Course and logistics
The 50K route includes about 26 miles of single track and about 5 miles of dirt forest road. There are six aid stations located approximately 4 to 5.4 miles apart (mile markers at roughly 4, 8.4, 12.8, 18.2, 22.6, and 27). Runners are required to carry a 20 oz water bottle or functional hydration system; volunteers will provide cold water, an electrolyte drink, energy gels, and electrolyte tablets at aid stations. Drop bags may be stored in a tent near the start/finish; items left on the island will be returned to the ferry boat store on the mainland. Dogs are allowed at the start/finish area but not on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
