Rock River Canyon : Great Lakes Endurance (Munising, MI)

The Rock River Canyon event in Munising, Michigan takes place in June 2026 and is part of the Great Lakes Endurance series. Two distances are offered:

  • 50K
  • 27K

The 50K is an out-and-back route that starts at Valley Spur Lodge, follows a section of the North Country Trail to AuTrain, continues into the Rock River Canyon Wilderness, then returns to Valley Spur. The course is roughly 31 miles and combines about 26 miles of single track with about 5 miles of dirt forest road. The 27K uses single track and turns around at the second aid station (AuTrain).

Aid stations and support: six aid stations are located approximately 4 to 5.4 miles apart and are vehicle accessible. Runners are required to carry a refillable 20 oz water bottle or functional hydration system; volunteers provide cold water, an electrolyte drink, energy gels, and electrolytes at aid stations.

Logistics and awards: parking is available at Valley Spur Lodge. Drop bags can be stored in a tent near the start/finish area. All finishers receive a commemorative award; podium awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Entrant limit for the event is 100 runners.
