Rock River Canyon 50k Trail Run

Rock River Canyon

Rock River Canyon is a trail running event near Munising, Michigan, that follows high country and remote river valleys south of town. The course begins at Valley Spur Lodge, follows a rarely used section of the North Country Trail to AuTrain, continues into the Rock River Canyon Wilderness, then retraces eastward back to Valley Spur.

Distances include:

• 50K - 26 miles of single track, remainder on dirt forest roads
• 27K - traces the first 8.6 miles to AuTrain Forest Aid, then returns to Valley Spur Lodge

The 50K contains long stretches of single track and additional dirt forest road segments. The route features frequent but not overwhelming ascents and descents and is described as highly runnable with moderate, non-technical terrain. The 27K follows the initial segment of the 50K out to the AuTrain Forest Aid before the return.
