The 39th Golden Gate Park XC Open will be held on November 1, 2025 in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco (Lindley Meadow, 30th Ave & JFK Dr). The event hosts the USATF Masters 5k XC National Championship and is part of the Pacific Association of USATF annual Cross Country Grand Prix. Races offered: Masters Women (40+ yrs), Masters Men (40+ yrs), Open Women (<40 yrs), and Open Men (<40 yrs). Entry fee listed for each event is $48.70 (including a $3.70 fee). Masters race fees increase after October 24, 2025. Registration for the Open races ends October 30, 2025. No race day registration is permitted.

Course, logistics and environment

All races use a 5k cross country course made of two loops (one larger loop plus one smaller loop) over grass, dirt, and rolling hills. Declarations for the Masters race and bib pickup will take place at the host hotel on the Friday before the race. Bib transfers are allowed only for the Open races on race morning for a $10 fee; transfers are not allowed for the Masters races. The event lists several environmental measures: recycling collection for race bibs, separating recyclables from trash, minimizing single-serve plastic water bottles, and reuse of safety pins.
