Glas Tulaichean Uphill Race

The Glas Tulaichean Uphill Race takes place on 16 May 2026 and covers a measured distance of 7.2 km (about 4.5 miles) with an ascent of 670 m (about 2200 ft). The uphill only route runs to the summit of Glas Tulaichean, listed at 1051 m, mainly on good double track with a few stream crossings and the final few hundred metres on open hill.

The event is organised by Dundee Hawkhill Harriers and is run under Scottish Athletics and Scottish Hill Runners rules. It is a Scottish Athletics licensed event, licence number ES014879. Entry fees are shown as £8 or £6 for Scottish Athletics members. Online entries close on Thursday 14 May 2026 at 21:00 and there is also entry on the day. Total places are limited to 120.

Registration and number collection take place at Dalmunzie Estate, Spittal of Glenshee PH10 7QE; bag drop closes in advance to allow transport of kit to the summit. A land rover will transport one bag per competitor to the top so runners can collect warm clothing after finishing and then descend for post race tea and prize giving. Participants are asked to bring their own cups to reduce plastic waste.

Minimum age is 17 years. All competitors must carry full waterproof body cover including hat and gloves. In poor weather an alternative course may be used at the organiser's discretion. Prize categories include male and female overall places, veteran categories and first teams. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
