The Girdwood Marathon 2025 takes place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Girdwood, Alaska, with the Alyeska Daylodge as the start and finish area. Distances offered:

Registration opens June 1, 2025 at 8:00 AM and closes October 2, 2025 at 11:59 PM AKDT. The full and half marathons are open to ages 16 and older. No refunds are offered and bib transfers are not allowed. The event is a fundraiser for the Girdwood Nordic Ski Club; proceeds support grooming equipment, trail maintenance, and signage.

Course and logistics

The races use local trails and paths, including Winner Creek Trail, Upper/Middle/Lower Iditarod Trails, Nordic 5K Loop, Tiny Trail, Athabascan Trail, California Creek Trail, Abe's Trail, Beaver Pond Trail, Bird-to-Gird Path, Winner Creek Extension, Alyeska Bike Path, and resort mountain trails including the Kettle Pond Trail. Five aid stations are planned at: Alyeska Daylodge; Nordic 5K Loop/Winner Creek connection; Middle Iditarod at USFS parking lot; Crow Creek Road at California Creek Trailhead; and Bird-to-Gird path. Runners must bring their own hydration and bear spray; pitchers will be available to fill bottles or packs. The full marathon has a time cutoff of 4.5 hours at mile 17 (Crow Creek Road). Dogs are not permitted for racers or spectators, and use of earbuds is discouraged for safety. Parking, bathrooms, and warm-gear storage are available at the venue.
