Gimme S'more Mud Run
Gimme S'more Mud Run is scheduled for September 26, 2026, at Camp Sacajawea, located at 638 L Avenue in Boone, about 55 miles northwest of Des Moines. Parking is available on site for free, though limited.
The event offers two course options:
- 3 Mile Course: approximately three miles with mud obstacles
- 1 Mile Course: approximately one mile, recommended for runners under age 8
Entry fees and age guidelines are set for each course. The 3 Mile Course is for ages 8 and up; the 1 Mile Course is for ages 4 and up. Fee discounts apply for Girl Scout members. Race registration opens in mid-July. All participants must complete a participant waiver; guardians sign for minors.
Participants receive a race t-shirt with registration; an event patch is available for purchase for three dollars. Packet pickup is at the Des Moines Leadership Center on Tuesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Materials not picked up may be collected at the event.
On-course water is provided and outdoor rinse areas will be available; no formal showers or changing rooms are provided. Port-a-potties and first aid personnel will be on site. The event benefits Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa. Pets are not permitted and there is no bag check.
