Geode Challenge Races

The Geode Challenge Races, held annually at Geode State Park in Danville, IA, features three trail race distances: 5K, 12K, and 25K. This event supports the Friends of Geode, funding projects like the renovation of the Beach Concession House. Participants can enjoy scenic trails with diverse terrain, including hills and creek crossings.

All finishers receive a geode, and unique handmade plaques are awarded to the top male and female finishers in each distance. Dogs are welcome to join runners, with special awards for those competing with their pets. Registration is available online until October 15, with in-person options on race day.
