Galtee Challenge Duo race

The Galtee Challenge Duo race is a partnered mountain running event in County Tipperary on Saturday 3 October 2026. The route covers 25.50 km with approximately 1800 m of ascent and is classed as difficulty 10, Extreme. The race is a duo format and entries are for teams; capacity is 200 places and current entries are listed as 0 of 200.

The course starts and finishes at King's Yard. Control points in sequence are Carrigeen (Monabrack on some maps) R859219; Cruach a Tarbh (Bull Hill) R848216; Sheep’s pins R846196; stile at the start of Temple Hill R819217; Temple Hill R833218; Lyracappul R845231; and Galty Mor trig point R878238. The route is not waymarked and GPS navigation is allowed.

Mandatory kit is Level C - Advanced and includes a waterproof jacket with integrated hood and taped seams, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, foil blanket or bivvy bag, waterproof full leg cover, means to carry a minimum of 500 mL water, emergency food, map of route or area, and a compass. Runners must carry the required kit; random checks may be carried out and failure to have required items may result in denial of entry or disqualification. The specific kit to be carried may be finalised on the day.

Entries open 6 September 2026 and close 30 September 2026. Entry fee is €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Registration and parking take place at King's Yard. An aid station is located at about 13 km and refreshments, toilets and coin operated showers are available at the finish. Tent pitches are available onsite. A 32 km mountain crossing in County Tipperary with about 1500 m of ascent on an unmarked route. GPS is allowed and Level C mandatory kit is required; places are limited and currently full.

A mountain uphill race to the summit of Galty Mór covering 6.00 km with 750 m ascent on unmarked rugged terrain. GPS is not allowed and Level B mandatory kit is required.

Trail races at Glenstall Abbey, County Limerick on 21 June 2026 with 10.40 km and 5.00 km courses and 265 m climb. Entries open 15 June, fees €7 seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s; GPS is not allowed.

A mountain running event in Anglesboro, Limerick with a marked main 10 km course (627 m climb) and a 5 km junior option, mandatory Level B kit and entry fees of €7 and €5.
