Froggy Hollow 5 & 9

The Froggy Hollow 5 & 9 is a timed trail ultra event hosted in the Little Bennett Regional Park in Clarksburg, Maryland. Participants run on a 4.4-mile loop consisting of several different trails, including the Acorn Hollow, Beaver Valley, and Bennett Ridge trails. The course is marked with pink surveyor flags and pink flagging tape.

The event offers several individual and relay formats:

• 9-Hour Challenge - a solo or relay timed event
• 5-Hour Challenge - a solo or relay timed event
• "More Than a 4-Miler" - a single-lap trail option

For relay teams, only one member runs at a time. The team can choose how to divide the distance, as there is no set minimum time or distance for individual relay members. The exchange between runners must take place in the designated area. For all timed challenges, only loops completed before the final cutoff time will be included in the results.

Facilities include a stocked aid station in the race village providing various food and hydration options. After the event, a post-race chili bar is available with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan choices. All participants receive a finisher medal and a long-sleeve race shirt. Top finishers in overall and age group categories are awarded custom chili bowls and socks.

Specific trail regulations apply: the use of strollers, pacers, or dogs is not permitted. Littering is strictly prohibited. Participants in the 9-Hour Challenge must use a headlamp for the early portion of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
