Froggy Hollow 9

Event overview

The Froggy Hollow 5 & 9 presented by Altra is a timed trail ultra held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Little Bennett Campground, 23705 Frederick Road, Clarksburg, MD 20871. Event options include the 5-Hour Challenge, 5-Hour Relay Challenge, 9-Hour Challenge, 9-Hour Relay Challenge, and "More Than a 4-Miler." All participants complete a loop course of approximately 4.4 miles. A portion of event proceeds will benefit the Montgomery Parks Foundation.

Course, rules and logistics

The loop begins and ends at Loop E of Little Bennett Campground and uses a mix of named trails, including Acorn Hollow, Beaver Valley, Stoney Brook, W Piedmont, Tobacco Barn, Windy Ridge, Browning Run and Bennett Ridge. The route will be marked with pink surveyor flags stamped with a black CCR logo and pink flagging tape. Not permitted on the trail are littering, pacers, crew, dogs, bandits and strollers. All 9-Hour Challenge participants are required to carry a light until sunrise. 9-Hour participants may bring one drop bag and a chair to place in the designated Runner's Alley on Loop E; access to the bag is allowed after each loop and at race end. Self-crewing from the race village is allowed on a first-come basis and is not monitored by organizers.

Amenities, awards and packet pickup

Amenities listed for registrants include a stocked aid station in the race village, long-sleeve race apparel, product demos featuring Altra shoes, finisher medals, and a post-race chili bar with gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. Top finishers receive a branded chili bowl and spoon. Solo awards include overall and age-group categories; relay awards go to top teams (maximum team size: 3). Packet pickup is scheduled at Charm City Run locations in Timonium and Frederick on the two days before race day and at the Little Bennett Camp Store on race day.
