The Friends of Yellow River State Forest Trail Run is the seventh annual running event held in the state forest. It takes place over two days, with events on May 8 and 9, 2026. Events and Registration
The event offers four trail run/walk distances:
- Fast, Flat, and Family-Friendly 5K on Friday.
- Saturday 5K
- 10K on Saturday.
- Half Marathon on Saturday.
Participants can register for a "Dirty Double" by combining the Friday night run with a Saturday race for a discounted price. Dirty Double participants receive a hand-crafted race mug. Standard registration prices are $35 for the 5K events, $45 for the 10K, and $55 for the half marathon. Prices increase by $5 starting April 1, and online registration closes on May 6, though walk-ins are welcome. Registration by April 20 is required to receive an event shirt.
Additional Information
All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult, and those over age 12 must be registered. Well-behaved dogs on a leash are allowed. The Friday night 5K is described as family-friendly, though strollers may be difficult on the existing trails. The races will be timed, and winners in multiple age and gender categories will receive prizes, including canvases featuring local photography.
