Distances and route format:

  • 50k Ultra - route on five long-distance trails linked into one loop.
  • Half Marathon - route on three long-distance trails plus trails at the foot of the Downs.

Named trails used on the Ultra include Serpent Trail, New Lipchis Way, West Sussex Literary Trail, Monarchs Way, and South Downs Way. The Half Marathon uses Serpent Trail, New Lipchis Way, and South Downs Way. The Ultra has four staffed, well-stocked checkpoints; the Half Marathon has one checkpoint.
