The 50 km Ultra links sections of five long-distance trails: Serpent Trail, New Lipchis Way, West Sussex Literary Trail, Monarchs Way and South Downs Way in a single loop. The Half Marathon follows sections of three long-distance trails: Serpent Trail, New Lipchis Way and South Downs Way, with additional trails at the foot of the Downs in Graffham. The Ultra has four staffed checkpoints; the Half Marathon has one checkpoint. Race timing uses SportIdent. Finishers receive a wooden eco-medal.
