Fortitude Ultra - Pippingford

Fortitude Ultra at Pippingford Park is a timed challenge offering 10 hours to complete 10 laps of roughly 3 mile, 4 mile or 5 mile loops. Distances offered:

  • ~3 mile loop
  • ~4 mile loop
  • ~5 mile loop

Participants may change down to a shorter loop at any time, but they must complete each lap and return to the race village within the hour to continue. Finisher awards include an event medal and a coloured finisher's shirt. The finishing grade is based on the shortest loop completed, not on total mileage.

Venue, course and camping

The event uses Pippingford Park, a private estate that includes an MOD training range and is surrounded by natural areas. Each lap can include up to 700 ft (215 m) of elevation. The Red and Black courses are mostly on hard packed trail, while the Blue course has more off-road trail. The Blue loop can be completed by walking or running if the participant keeps moving.

Basic camping is available for tents and motor homes for the Saturday night. Pitches allow one tent for up to six people. Facilities are limited: there is no running water or showers, and portable toilets will be on site. Participants must leave the site before 9 AM on Sunday.
