Fork In The Trail 5k

The Fork In The Trail 5k is a trail running event hosted in Bedford, New York. The race starts and finishes at the Fox Lane High School campus. The course leads participants into the Westmoreland Sanctuary, a local nature preserve.

A unique feature of this event is the route selection. While all participants follow the same general course, the trail eventually splits, and runners must choose between a left or right direction during the race.

The event takes place regardless of weather conditions, functioning as a rain or shine race. Because the course traverses a wildlife sanctuary, specific environmental regulations are in place to protect the local fauna. Dogs are strictly prohibited within the Westmoreland Sanctuary to prevent scaring away protected animals and to avoid leaving predator scents that can disrupt the sanctuary's wildlife for several weeks.

Registration for the event opens in March and involves a fixed fee. The following distance is available: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
