Event Format

Forged 48 is a multi-day running challenge where participants run 4 miles every 4 hours for 44 hours. The first run begins at 8 PM on April 24, and the final run ends at 4 PM on April 26, for a total of 48 miles.

Course Details

The runs take place on various routes. During daylight hours, runs occur at different trailheads within Riverside State Park. During hours of darkness, runs take place at the Reardan Cross Country Track. Specific routes for each run will be briefed to participants beforehand.

Location and Logistics

The event is based in Spokane, Washington, and offers in-person and virtual participation options. The main staging area is the Reardan Cross Country Track, where participants can camp in designated areas between runs.

Aid stations with food, water, and electrolytes will be available before each run. Participants must be self-sufficient for sleeping and eating between runs. A Washington State Discover Pass is required for the duration of the challenge.

Schedule

The running schedule alternates between the Reardan Cross Country Track and various trailheads in Riverside State Park, including Bowl and Pitcher, Seven Mile, Carlson, Pine Bluff/Deep Creek, Upper Deep Creek, and Military Cemetery.

This four-mile run on the Fish Lake Trail benefits the BRRC volunteer program. Bring your gently used athletic gear to donate to local high school athletes.

A volunteer-organized trail event on April 19, 2026 in Nine Mile Falls offering races from 5K to 50K, relays, shirts and medals, with proceeds supporting local youth programs and a post-race beer garden.
