Forged 48 - 4X4X48 is a multi-day running challenge in Spokane, WA on 24 April 2026. The event runs for 44 hours and covers a total of 48 miles. Participants run a four-mile segment every four hours until the total distance is completed. The event offers both an in-person and a virtual option.

Format and course

The route uses short four-mile iterations at a mix of trailheads and a cross country track. Daytime segments take place on trails within Riverside State Park; nighttime segments use Reardan Cross Country Track. Specific routes are briefed before each iteration. Aid stations will provide food, water, and electrolytes prior to each segment.

Logistics and requirements

Packet pickup is scheduled at Kendall Yards Fleet Feet on 23 April and at the race location on 24 April, with a pre-race briefing at the race location on 24 April. Participants must have a Discover Pass for the park areas used. Recommended gear includes a headlamp and spare batteries, clothing and layers for up to 48 hours, and a running vest or similar for supplies. Participants should be self-sufficient between iterations and may camp at the main staging area, stay in a hotel, or use a vehicle for rest.
