Event Overview

Forged 48 is a multi-day endurance event based on the 4x4x48 format. Participants cover a total of 48 miles by running 4 miles every four hours over a span of 44 hours. The event is held in person in Spokane, Washington, with a virtual participation option also available.

Course Details

The challenge utilizes multiple locations to complete the iterations. During daylight hours, participants run routes at various trailheads within Riverside State Park, including Bowl and Pitcher, Seven Mile, Carlson, Pine Bluff, Deep Creek, and the Military Cemetery trailheads. During the hours of darkness, the iterations take place at the Reardan Cross Country Track. Specific route details are provided to participants before each segment begins.

Logistics and Support

Food, water, and electrolytes are provided before the start of each iteration. Participants are expected to be self-sufficient between runs, including managing their own sleeping and eating arrangements. Options for the intervals include camping at the main staging area at the Reardan Cross Country Track, staying in a vehicle, or utilizing local hotels.

All participants are required to have a Discover Pass for entry into the State Park trailheads. Recommended gear includes headlamps with extra batteries and clothing suitable for varying weather conditions, such as rain gear and warming layers.
