Florida Roots Trail Series - Fort Clinch

The Florida Roots Trail Race at Fort Clinch takes place on January 23, 2027, at Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island, Florida. The event is organized by Zero Feet Above and offers multiple looped trail distances that start and finish at the Fort Clinch visitor center.

Distances

  • 50K - 5 loops, 31 miles
  • 30K - 3 loops, 18.6 miles
  • 10K - 1 loop, 6.2 miles

All distances follow the same 10K loop through maritime hammock and coastal terrain. The course is primarily mixed-use singletrack with many short, sometimes steep climbs and surfaces ranging from sand to well-packed dirt. Roots are a frequent feature along the trails and parts of the route run alongside historic fort walls and coastal shoreline.

Entries include chip timing, a race shirt, a finisher award, and post-race food and drinks. Aid station support is provided on the loop with two stations, water, electrolyte drink, food, and bathrooms; the start/finish area supports drop bags. All finishers receive an award and top finishers receive Florida State Park passes in overall and masters categories.

Additional event details note group tent camping at Fort Clinch on the nights before the race, restroom and shower facilities, and nearby hotels within a short drive. One hundred percent of event profits are donated to Florida State Parks. No pacers are allowed on course and registration closes January 22, 2027 at 11:59 PM ET.
