Florida Roots Trail Series - Fort Clinch

The Florida Roots Trail Race takes place at Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island, Florida. The event utilizes a 10K loop that begins and ends at the park visitor center. Participants follow a course consisting of mixed-use singletrack through maritime hammock surroundings. The terrain features natural coastal undulations, including several short and steep climbs on surfaces ranging from soft sand to well-packed dirt. As a trail event, the path contains a high density of exposed roots.

Runners can select from three different distances based on the number of completed loops:

  • 50 km (five loops)
  • 30 km (three loops)
  • 10 km (one loop)

The course includes two aid stations per loop. One is located at the start and finish area, providing access to drop bags, while a second station is positioned at approximately the 2.5-mile mark. Both stations offer water, electrolyte drinks, food, and restroom facilities.

All participants receive chip timing, a race shirt, and a finisher award. Top male, female, and masters (40+) finishers in each distance category are awarded Florida State Park passes. One hundred percent of the profits from the event are donated to Florida State Parks to support the preservation of natural resources. On-site accommodations include group tent camping at the park, while local hotels are available within a short drive.
