Florida Roots Trail Race at Fort Clinch
The Florida Roots Trail Race at Fort Clinch is a trail running event held at Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island, Florida on January 23, 2027. The event uses a single 10K loop that begins and ends at the Fort Clinch visitor center; longer distances are multiple loops of the same circuit.
Distances
- 10K 1 loop (6.2 miles)
- 30K 3 loops (18.6 miles)
- 50K 5 loops (31 miles)
The course follows canopied singletrack through maritime hammock and coastal terrain. Surface varies from sand to well-packed dirt and includes a large number of short, sometimes steep climbs. Roots are common on the trail. There are two aid stations on the 10K loop, with water, electrolyte drink, food, bathrooms, and a start/finish area that supports drop bags.
Entries include chip timing, a race shirt, a finisher award, and post-race food and drinks. All finishers receive an award, and top male, female, and masters (40+) finishers in each distance receive Florida State Park passes. Group tent camping is available at Fort Clinch on the nights before the race with restrooms, showers, and potable water; hotels are a short drive away.
No pacers are allowed on course. All event profits are donated to Florida State Parks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
