Fire Trail Running Festival
The Fire Trail Running Festival offers multiple trail distances through the grasslands and woodlands of Guadalupe River State Park near San Antonio, TX. The event includes the following distances:
- 8K
- 25K
- 50K
- 8K ruck
Courses follow named single-track trails such as Barred Owl, Painted Bunting, and Live Oak. Surfaces are rocky and dirt single-track. The course layout uses loops with a reported elevation gain of about 214 ft per loop. The main aid station is located at the end of each loop (mile 5.2) and supplies hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice, and ice. Drop bags can be placed near the start and finish area.
Required gear notes specify a headlamp unless running a fast 8K and a handheld water bottle or hydration vest because this is a no-cup race. A water carrying system is required for all events. The ruck option has weight requirements: participants over 150 lb carry 30 lb and those under 150 lb carry 20 lb; ruck sack or vest is allowed.
Event logistics include park day pass requirements and designated parking rules. Campgrounds are available a few minutes from the start/finish and include restrooms and showers. Volunteers staff aid stations and course duties, and participants who withdraw early must notify race staff at the start or finish area.
