Fire Trail Running Festival

The Fire Trail Running Festival is a night trail running event held at Guadalupe River State Park in Spring Branch, Texas. The festival offers multiple distances over rocky and dirt single-track trails that run through grasslands and woodlands. Distances include:

  • 50K
  • 50K Relay
  • 25K
  • 8K
  • 8K RUCK

The course uses Barred Owl, Painted Bunting, and Live Oak trails and is run in looped circuits with about 214 feet of elevation gain per loop. Historic temperatures for the event range roughly from 75 to 90 degrees. The course is fully marked and supported with aid stations providing food and hydration. Photography and race gear distribution are part of the event experience.

Specific rules and features: headlamps are required for all participants; no single-use cups are provided, so participants must plan their own water-carrying system; one pacer is allowed per runner and only during the final two loops of the 50K. The 50K relay accepts teams of two to six runners and uses a single bib shared among team members. The 8K RUCK has weight requirements based on participant weight.

Finishers receive event shirts, medals, and distance-specific awards and patches. Volunteers staff aid stations and course support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
