The Fire and Ice Winter Run is a late winter trail race held on February 21, 2026, at Gilbert Lake State Park in New Lisbon, New York. The event offers three distances: a 50K, a 25K, and a 10K.

Course Details

The race takes place on a looped course through the forests of Gilbert Lake State Park. The terrain includes a mix of single and double track trail, gravel paths, and roads. The loop is approximately 6 miles long. Runners completing the 50K will run 5 loops, the 25K will run 2+ loops, and the 10K will run 1 loop. The course will be well marked, and a course map and GPS route file will be provided before the race. Given possible snowy conditions, runners have the option of running with or without snowshoes.

Event Information

All aid, including food, coffee, and warmth from fireplaces, will be provided at the Briggs cabin located on Gilbert Lake. All finishers will receive a finishing award, likely a coffee mug. Special awards will be provided to male, female, and masters winners. All net proceeds from the event will be given to The Neighborhood Center.
