The event is a late winter trail race held at Gilbert Lake State Park in New Lisbon, NY. The course runs on a loop through forested areas and uses a mix of single and double track trail, gravel paths, and roads. Given possible snowy conditions, runners may choose to run with or without snowshoes.

Course and aid

The loop is approximately 6 miles and will be well marked. Runners in the 50K complete five loops, 25K complete just over two loops, and 10K complete one loop. Aid is provided at the Briggs cabin on Gilbert Lake and includes drink mix, water, food, coffee, and warmth from fireplaces.

Registration and fees

Registration is handled through Ultrasignup. Entry fees listed are 50K $45, 25K $35, and 10K $30. Registration closes on February 18 at 11:59 PM ET. Refunds and deferrals may be offered depending on individual circumstances.

Awards and charity

All finishers receive a finishing award, likely a coffee mug. Special awards are given to male, female, and masters winners. All proceeds are donated to The Neighborhood Center, a local nonprofit that provides childcare, family services, and mental health services. Trail runs in Charles E Baker State Forest with a 5K for beginners, a family friendly 15K, or a rugged 50K ultra with major climbing in three loops. On site grilled food helps the local school and bonuses await new course records.
