The Trailwagger

The Trailwagger is the second annual trail event organized in collaboration between Super Heroes Humane Society and The Clark Sports Center Events team. It takes place on the trails of Gilbert Lake State Park in Laurens, NY on October 10, 2026. Courses use park trails and some paved park roads, with no vehicle traffic on course and seasonal fall foliage on the route.

The event offers multiple distance options:

• 3-mile run or walk on paved park roads and trails.
• 5-mile course mostly on trails, passing ponds and creeks.
• 8-mile option by combining the 5-mile and 3-mile courses.

There is also a two-person team division where each teammate runs one of the two distances, and a dog stroll around the lake for participants who bring a four-legged family member. All participating dogs receive a bandana that matches the event shirt.

A registered participant will receive an event T-shirt if registration is completed by September 27, 2026. A virtual participation option is available; virtual participants can receive the event T-shirt if they register by the stated cut-off.

A portion of event proceeds will support Super Heroes Humane Society. That nonprofit is based in Oneonta, NY, operates mostly with volunteers, and provides animal sheltering, a free pet food pantry, low-cost spay and neuter services for cats, and crisis boarding.
