Fen Gallop 2026

The Fen Gallop is a multi-terrain running and walking event held in Willingham, Cambridgeshire. For the 2026 edition, the organizers have introduced a new route that utilizes country roads, footpaths, and bridleways. The terrain is flat throughout the course, providing a tour of the local landscape.

The event offers several distances and participation options for various age groups:

  • 10 km: A chipped timing race for participants aged 15 years and older.
  • 4 miles: A shorter chipped timing race for runners aged 11 and over (under 11s must be accompanied).
  • 4-mile walk: An untimed social walking option without chip timing.
  • 1 mile: A kids race held after the main events.

The event starts and finishes at the Willingham Recreation Ground on West Fen Road. The 10 km route is a chip-timed race, while the 4-mile option provides a shorter loop that returns to the village before reaching Over. Registration for participants is held on the morning of the event, and a mandatory safety briefing takes place before each race begins.

A maximum of 500 entrants are permitted to participate. Beyond the races, the event includes activities organized by local village groups. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Willingham School Association and other local charities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
