Event overview
FatShoe is a winter fat bike and snowshoe event held at Silver Star Mountain Resort, Vernon, BC on January 17, 2026. The format includes a duathlon (snowshoe then fat bike) for solo or team entries, single-discipline fat bike and snowshoe options, and a children's snowshoe event. The solo snowshoe race is part of the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series.

Distances offered include:
- 16 km solo and team duathlon
- 11 km fat bike rider loop
- 5.5 km snowshoe loop
- 2.5 km children's snowshoe
Registration opens April 1, 2025 and closes January 14, 2026. Early solo entry is listed at CAN $55 plus tax; the kids event fee is CAN $15 plus tax. Participants must supply their own fat bike and snowshoes; rentals are noted as available from local rental providers. Package pick-up and race staging take place at Silver Star Mountain Resort Parking Lot E; photo ID is required at pick-up.
Safety and race rules require carrying a minimum of 500 ml of water and emergency food, wearing a helmet while on or near a bike, and following course markings and marshal directions. Relay teams use a token exchange at the start/finish for transitions. Aid stations provide food, drinks, and minimal first aid; marshals and rescue staff can stop or remove participants for safety reasons.
Race inclusion items include a custom finisher medal, a toque, food and hot drinks, fire pits, and on-course photography. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
