FatShoe is a winter fat bike and snowshoe race held at Silver Star Mountain Resort in Vernon, BC on January 17, 2026. The event offers solo and team duathlon formats, a solo fat bike race, a solo snowshoe race, and a children's snowshoe race. Solo entries are listed at CAN $55 plus tax and the kids race at CAN $15 plus tax. Registration opened April 1, 2025 and closes January 14, 2026.

Format and courses

Courses use the BX Creek / Knoll trail system at Silver Star. The fat bike rider loop is approximately 11 km and the snowshoe loop is 5.5 km. The children’s loop is 2.5 km. Team relays use a token handoff at the start/finish area; relay runners register individually and record their team name during registration.

Logistics, services and rules

Package pick-up is at Silver Star Mountain Resort Parking Lot E; racers must pick up their own package and show ID. Participants must supply their own fat bike and snowshoes; rentals are available from listed local providers. Finish-line items include a custom finisher medal, toque, hot dog, hot chocolate, coffee and s'mores. Photography on course is provided and complimentary.

Mandatory or recommended gear includes a minimum 500 ml water reservoir and emergency food; helmets are required when on a bike. The event bans e-bikes, requires racers to stay on marked trails, and enforces environmental and safety rules. The solo snowshoe event is part of the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series. A 5 km obstacle course and festival at Kin Beach on June 13, 2026 featuring over 25 optional obstacles, a large inflatable waterslide, mud pits and lots of foam. The event includes a free kids zone, food vendors and a beer garden.
