FatShoe is a winter fat bike and snowshoe event at Silver Star Mountain Resort, Vernon, BC on January 17, 2026. The event can be entered as a solo duathlon, a team duathlon, a solo fat bike race, a solo snowshoe race, or a children’s snowshoe event. Course descriptions list a fat bike loop of approximately 11 km and a snowshoe loop of 5.5 km. The children’s snowshoe loop is 2.5 km. Awards are given to the top three male and female solo and team finishers. Participant benefits include a custom finisher medal, a toque, food and warm drinks at the finish, first aid on site, and event music.

Logistics and rules

Online registration opens April 1, 2025 and closes January 14, 2026. Early entry fees listed are CAN $55 plus tax for most solo entries, CAN $105 plus tax for teams, and CAN $15 plus tax for the kids race; fees do not include taxes and service charges. Participants must supply their own fat bike and snowshoes; rentals are available from local rental providers. Mandatory gear includes a minimum 500 ml water reservoir and, for bike participants, a helmet. Aid stations will provide food and drinks for racers only. Participants must stay on marked trails, follow race marshals, and observe environmental protection and safety rules. The organizer may cancel or shorten the race for safety reasons.
