Faster For Foster Trail Run
The Faster For Foster Trail Run is the third annual trail race benefiting New To You, Inc., a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports foster children in middle Tennessee. One hundred percent of event proceeds will go directly to helping foster children. Foster children and foster families may register for free; the organizer asks participants to use the honor system for that registration category.
The event is held at Preservation Park in Thompson's Station, TN. The listed venue address is 1600 Thompson's Station Road West and participants are asked to include "West" in directions to reach the correct location. Park in the gravel lot at the main entrance; the pavilion inside the fence serves as the packet pick up and start/finish area. Bathrooms are about a 0.15 mile walk from the parking lot.
Distances
- 10K - two laps of the 5K course
- 5K - single loop on trails
The course is marked with orange or pink ground flags and includes an out-and-back section around mile 1.25 to 1.75 with a water stop and bib number check at the turnaround. The first two miles are grass or gravel jeep road with wide trails. The final mile is narrow technical trail with rocks and roots; runners should watch their footing. The race is dog friendly with leashes required, and walkers and hikers are welcome. There is no race day registration; online registration closes Friday, April 10.
