Faster For Foster Trail Run

Faster For Foster is the third annual trail race benefiting New To You, Inc., a local 501(c)3 nonprofit that supports foster children in middle Tennessee. The organization provides items such as clothing, diapers, personal items, furniture and tuition for trade school. One hundred percent of race proceeds are designated to help foster children in the area. Foster children and foster families may register without a fee under an honor system.

The event offers the following distances:

  • 10K
  • 5K

Both races take place on the trails at Preservation Park in Thompson's Station, Tennessee. The 10K uses the 5K course twice. The event is dog friendly and welcomes walkers, hikers and runners of all ages. Registration opens January 1, 2027, and online registration closes the night before the event; there is no race day registration.

Packet pick up is available at Fleet Feet Cool Springs on the Friday before the race and at Preservation Park on race morning. The course is marked with orange or pink flags on the ground; clustered flags mark turns. The opening miles are grass or gravel with wide trails and a short out-and-back. A water stop and bib check occur near the turnaround. The final mile is a narrower, more technical trail with rocks and roots, and the finish returns to the pavilion near the park barns.

Awards are given to top overall finishers by female and male categories, to the top K9 in each race, and to age group winners across several brackets. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
