There is little pavement, no extended climbs, and many short ups and downs. The race lists aid stations, medical support, post-race food (including breakfast burritos), awards, and race swag; finish medals are an optional add-on (pre-order and on-site prices noted by the organizer).

A kids program run by Little Fern Learning is available for ages 2-11; drop-off and pickup times are given and pre-registration is required. The event has rules such as no in-ear headphones, no pets or pacers on course, visible race numbers, outside assistance only near aid stations, and a requirement to stay on designated trails. Age divisions include Male, Female, Non-Binary and standard age brackets from 12 and under up to 70-79. The race lists a charity partnership with Homestretch.
