2026 FAAP Fall Classic - North Park

The FAAP Fall Classic is a cross country race and walk event held in North Park near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 2026 edition marks the 19th year of this event, which takes place during the beginning of the fall foliage season in Western Pennsylvania. The courses utilize the trail systems within the park, including portions of the Rachel Carson Trail.

The event offers three distinct distances for participants:

  • 20k
  • 10k
  • 5k

The race starts and ends at the North Harmar Pavilion. Participants receive handmade bamboo medal awards for their completion of the course. Following the conclusion of the races, the event features a folk dancing performance. Proceeds from the event are used to benefit an orphanage in the Philippines.

Parking is not available directly at the Harmar Pavilion for race participants. Those attending should use the North Park swimming pool parking area, located approximately 0.10 to 0.25 miles from the pavilion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Trail runs nearby

Run or walk for a song at the Soles for Songs 5K. This flat out-and-back race on the scenic Panhandle Trail supports the South Hills Children's Choir. All participants are welcome, and early registrants get a t-shirt and goodie bag.

Run a fast half marathon or a family friendly 5K on the flat, scenic Yough River Trail. This event supports the volunteer group that maintains the Great Allegheny Passage. All finishers receive a commemorative medal.
