Evan Stowers Memorial 5k Trail Run and 2 Mile Walk

The Evan Stowers Memorial 5k Trail Run and 2 Mile Walk takes place in Little Creek Park, located in South Charleston, West Virginia. This fifth annual event honors a former South Charleston cross country runner and supports the West Virginia Kids Cancer Crusaders. The in-person gathering has a combined limit of 200 participants.

The event features several participation options:

• 5k Trail Run (3.1 miles)
• 2 Mile Walk
• Virtual 5K Run (3.1 miles)

The 5k Trail Run follows a course consisting of rolling, single-track trails. Participants encounter one steep climb during the trail portion before the route transitions to a road surface for the finish. The 2 Mile Walk is conducted as an out and back course entirely on the road.

Professional timing services are provided for the event. Participants who register early are eligible for specific registration fees, which increase as the event date approaches, with race-day registration also available. Swag bags containing custom items and local crafts are guaranteed for the first one hundred registered participants.

Awards are presented to the top two overall male and female finishers in the running category. Additionally, the top two male and female runners in several age categories, ranging from 19 and under to 70 and over, receive recognition. The first two walkers to cross the finish line also receive awards. A raffle is held during the event with tickets available for purchase. Parking at the park is limited and carpooling is encouraged.
