Event Overview

The Estes Epic takes place in Estes Park, Colorado over two days in late September. The event features four different races. Proceeds support the Estes Park High School Mountain Bike Team, helping with student race fees, equipment, and transportation. Team members volunteer at aid stations and as course marshals.

Race Distances

Participants can choose from the following events:

  • 50k Bike: A mountain bike race covering 50 kilometers of demanding terrain.
  • 50k Run: A 50-kilometer trail run through wilderness areas.
  • Heavy Half Marathon: A trail half marathon distance.
  • The Epic: A combination event involving both the 50k mountain bike and 50k run races.

Course and Support

The courses feature rugged trails, climbs, and views of Rocky Mountain National Park. Aid stations are available on the courses and provide water, endurance fuel, and snacks.

  • The 50k course has aid stations at mile points 5.6, 8, 16, 21.5, and 25.5.
  • The Heavy Half Marathon course has aid stations at mile points 5.6 and 9.7.

Trail races on private ranch trails at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in Loveland, Colorado over two days in April 2026. Events range from 5K and 10K to 4, 6 and 12 hour timed races plus relay and virtual options.

A trail ultramarathon on April 12, 2026 along the Poudre River Trail offering 50 mile and 100 mile solo and relay options with stocked aid stations and a post race celebration in Greeley.

Trail races on scenic, well marked singletrack around Fort Collins. Choose a 25 mile loop with about 5,500 feet of gain or run a second loop for 50 miles and roughly 11,000 feet of ascent, with staffed aid stations and enforced cut-offs.

Trail trail race at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park offering 10k, 27k and 55k looped routes. The course is mostly single track with a steep ascent at Bible Point and includes a day pass, a custom hat and wool finisher socks.
