Escape from Turkey Mountain

Escape from Turkey Mountain takes place on September 7, 2026 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and uses the trails of Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness. Both races start and finish at the Lower Parking Lot at Turkey Mountain.

• 5 Mile - a more technical trail course.
• 2 Mile - a shorter and less technical trail course.

All entrants receive a race t-shirt and a finisher medal. The event is the third and final race in the annual Turkey Triple series; the other series events are Trail Madness in March and the Trail Nut races in June. Participants in the series receive an additional special medal for each race and series registration closes prior to the first race in March.

Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness encompasses over 300 acres a few miles from downtown Tulsa and is wooded with species such as Post and Blackjack Oak, Hickory, and Redbud. The park area extends roughly from I-44 to 71st Street and from Elwood Avenue to the Arkansas River, with the highest point on Turkey Mountain rising about 300 feet above the river.

To reduce trail congestion the race uses a three wave start with self-selection by anticipated pace: Wave 1 faster than 11:30 per mile, Wave 2 between 11:30 and 14:00 per mile, and Wave 3 slower than 14:00 per mile.
