Barr Lake Trail Race

The Barr Lake Trail Race takes place Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Barr Lake State Park in Brighton, Colorado. The event is in its sixth year and uses a route that circles the lake with continuous views of the water and the Front Range. The course starts and finishes at the park Nature Center.

All courses are run on dirt surfaces. Most distances are looped while the 5K is an out and back. Reported elevation gains are low; the event notes less than 100 feet of elevation gain per loop for the main course and specific total gains listed by distance. Aid station coverage varies by distance with multiple stations on the longer loops and none on the 5K. Cutoff and time limit details are provided per distance.

Logistics include a designated drop bag area at the start and finish, parking in the lot next to the staging area, and state park fees included in race registration fees.
