Barr Lake Trail Race takes place at Barr Lake State Park with the start and finish at the park Nature Center. Distances offered:

Course and logistics

The courses are 100% dirt and run around Barr Lake with continuous lake and Front Range views. The route is looped for most distances (50K and 30K use multiple laps; 15K is a single loop; the 5K is out-and-back). The event design emphasizes low elevation change - less than 100 feet of gain per loop - with course maximum elevations around 5,104–5,106 feet.

Time limits vary by distance: the 50K has a 9-hour limit; the 30K and half marathon have about 8 hours; the 15K has 7 hours; the 5K has roughly 6 hours. Most looped distances use three aid-station locations on the loop (these serve runners each lap); the 5K has no aid stations. Crews may support runners at the finish line; pacers are not permitted. Parking is at the Barr Lake State Park Visitors Center and a drop-bag area is provided at the start/finish. The event operates a cupless policy - reusable cups are available for purchase or participants may bring their own. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
