Barr Lake Trail Race

The Barr Lake Trail Race takes place Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Barr Lake State Park in Brighton, Colorado. The event starts and finishes at the park Nature Center and follows a route around the lake with continuous views of the water and the Front Range.

Distances offered:

  • 50K
  • 30K
  • Half Marathon
  • 15K
  • 5K

All courses are run on 100% dirt. The race uses looped circuits around the lake: the 50K is a three-loop course, the 30K and half marathon use two loops, the 15K is one loop, and the 5K is an out-and-back. The course layout records less than 100 feet of elevation gain per loop for the looped distances. Aid stations are provided on the longer courses: three aid stations for the 50K, three for the 30K and half marathon, one for the 15K, and none for the 5K.

Event logistics include parking at the Barr Lake State Park Visitors Center, a designated area for drop bags at the start/finish, and allowance for crews to support runners at the finish line. Pacers are not permitted for any distance. Time limits and total elevation gain vary by distance and are listed in the event materials.
