Eerie Erie

Eerie Erie is a Halloween themed road and trail event organized by the Erie Optimist Club. The event offers a 5k and a 10k that run through historic downtown Erie and use the Coal Creek open space trail system. The 10k route passes Pleasant Hill Cemetery, noted for its scenic views.

The event begins at Coal Creek Park and includes on-site packet pick up the morning of the race. Registration that occurs on site on race day carries an additional fee compared with advance registration. Registrations submitted by 12pm on October 19 will receive an event shirt; later registrations will not receive a shirt. The races are scheduled to run rain or shine. An awards ceremony follows the completion of the races.

Eerie Erie has been designated as an official BOLDERBoulder qualifier, allowing finish times to be used for BOLDERBoulder wave qualification. The event also includes a Goblin Run for children ages 10 and under. That kids dash follows a clockwise loop around a grass area and finishes near the playground; costumes are encouraged and adult supervision is required.

Parking is available along local streets and in Coal Creek Park public lots. Dogs and strollers are permitted if positioned at the back of the field for safety and dogs remain on short leashes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
