Ruby Red Running will lead a series of guided recce runs on sections of the East Devon Round route in early 2026. The runs are social, aimed at building participants' knowledge of the route. Three qualified guides will tailor groups by ability. GPX routes are listed as coming soon.

Recce run details

  • Recce Run 1 - 18 km, 425 m climb - Blackbury Camp to Honiton
  • Recce Run 2 - 23 km, 600 m climb - Blackpool Corner to Musbury via Lyme Regis
  • Recce Run 3 - 20 km, 575 m climb - Combe Raleigh loop (part of the new Quarter Round)
  • Recce Run 4 - 23 km, 635 m climb - Honiton to Axminster (return by train)

Each run covers a different section of the East Devon Round, with some activity based near Honiton or Axminster to allow train links.

Participation and logistics

The recce runs are open to anyone aged 18 years or older. They are free for people already entered into an East Devon Round 2026 distance; others are asked for a £3 donation payable on the day. Chase winter trails at the Haldon Winter Run in Haldon Forest, Devon on Sunday 1 February 2026, with 2.5K, 5K and 10K options for runners and canicross teams. Fully marked routes, medals for finishers and championship stages add extra edge.

Join Haldon 5K & 10K on Sunday 1 February 2026 at Haldon Forest Park for scenic trail routes of 2.5 km, 5 km and 10 km. All finishers receive medals, there are awards and free race photos, and canicross is welcome with no cut off time.

The Exeter Half Marathon will take place in Exeter on Saturday 7 February 2026.
