Eagle Ridge is a trail running event at Guntersville State Park, 1155 Lodge Dr, Guntersville, AL. The park covers 6,000+ acres and has over 30 miles of single-track trails. The event offers the following distances:

  • Half Marathon
  • 5K

The race field is capped at 350 runners. The course uses trail loops and park access roads that allow spectators to view runners at multiple locations and at several bluff overlooks with lake and mountain scenery.

Race logistics

The event is a cupless race. Runners must carry a hand-held bottle, pack, or reusable cup; a reusable cup is available for purchase at registration. Several aid stations will be provided with water, sports drink, cola, GU, pretzels, M&M’s, granola bars and similar items. Aid station locations are listed for each distance in the event information. The 50K is run over 2.5 loops and has an overall cutoff of 8 hours; runners who do not complete the final loop by the cutoff may be removed from the event. The Half Marathon and 5K do not have course cutoffs. Packet pickup is available at a RunningLane location before race day and on race morning at the park lodge. Race shirts are long sleeve; registration by 15 January 2024 guaranteed the Eagle Ridge long-sleeve design. No refunds, credits or transfers are offered. Run Cathedral Caverns State Park on Nov 15 with 5K and 15K trail options, culminating in a lit cave out and back where runners grab a glow stick at the turnaround. All finishers earn a tri blend shirt and a finisher medal.
