Eagle Ridge at Guntersville State Park
Eagle Ridge is a trail event held at Guntersville State Park in Guntersville, AL (1155 Lodge Dr). The event offers three distances:
- 50K
- Half Marathon
- 5K
The field is capped at 350 runners. To be guaranteed an event long sleeve shirt, registration needed to be completed by January 15, 2024. The event is organized as a cupless race; runners must bring a hand-held bottle, pack or reusable cup. A RunningLane reusable cup was offered for purchase at checkout for $5.
Course, aid stations and logistics
Guntersville State Park contains over 6,000 acres and more than 30 miles of single-track trails. The course is described as having several bluff views, lake scenery and multiple park access roads for spectators. The 50K course consists of 2.5 loops and has an overall cutoff of 8 hours; the Half Marathon and 5K do not have cutoffs. Aid stations are provided and include water, sports drink, cola and various snacks. Specific aid station mile marks listed in the race information include:
- 5K: water at 2.4 miles
- Half Marathon: aid at 2.4, 3.1, 3.9, 5.8, 9.1, 11.3 miles
- 50K: multiple aid stations listed up to 30.0 miles
Packet pickup locations included the race organizer office and the Guntersville State Park Lodge on race morning. Discounted lodging rates and a weekend buffet discount were arranged at the park lodge. Volunteers received entry incentives for multi-hour shifts.
