Event Overview

The Dysart Woods trail run takes place on Saturday 25th April 2026. It is a 6.5 km loop on wooded trails in Co. Laois, with approximately 250 m of climb. The route is fully marked.

Course Details

The main race, called the Dysart Dash, is an anti-clockwise loop through native woodland. The course is noted for being fast, with climbs up Hewson Hill and some steep, technical descents. The route offers views of the Rock of Dunamaise and surrounding hills. There is a separate junior route of approximately 3 km, which is an out-and-back course.

Logistics and Requirements

The event is part of the IMRA Southeast League. Online pre-registration is required, with an entry cost of €7 for seniors. Entry opens on 20th April and closes on 24th April. There is an entry limit of 250 runners. All competitors must be IMRA members. No cash entries are accepted on the day. A Level A mandatory kit is required, which includes a showerproof and windproof jacket that must be carried or worn during the race. Trail running shoes are strongly advised due to the terrain. There are parking charges based on car occupancy.

Location
