Dormouse Challenge

Northampton, United Kingdom • 21 Nov 2025

Dormouse Challenge is held at Salcey Forest, a Forestry England site near Northampton (NN7 2HX). It’s a 6-hour trail event on a 3.5-mile off-road loop, letting runners choose any number of laps from a 5k to well over 80 km within the time limit. The course uses well-maintained paths—crushed stone and forest floor—with some mud when wet, so road or trail shoes both work.

The atmosphere is sociable and inclusive for all abilities; canicross is welcome and dogs on short leads. Finishers receive a medal, flapjack and beer (or a tree token), plus mince pies at the aid station. Parking is £3.50 for the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
