Edale Skyline Fell Race

The Edale Skyline Fell Race is a category A long fell race organized by the Dark Peak Fell Runners. The event takes place at Edale Village Hall and follows an unmarked course across high and exposed fell terrain. Participants should be prepared for potential harsh weather conditions.

Due to the nature of the terrain, specific experience is required to enter. Applicants must have finished the race within the last five years or completed two other AL races in the last four years. Alternatively, individuals must demonstrate the ability to navigate safely through exposed fell terrain in winter conditions.

Navigation is a critical component of the event. Participants are required to use a map of the race course and surroundings along with a compass. The use of GPS navigation is not permitted.

Specific equipment requirements are in place for this event. The kit list exceeds the standard Fell Runners Association (FRA) requirements for AL races. While these rules may be relaxed if weather conditions are favorable, participants are expected to arrive prepared with the full required gear.

The race is open to individuals aged 18 or older. Registration is located at the Edale Village Hall, and the course remains unmarked throughout. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
