Dirty Dozen 50K
The Dirty Dozen 50K is a 50 kilometer trail race held in Forest Park, Queens, New York, on August 29, 2026. The course uses a 2.5 mile loop on the Orange Trail run counterclockwise for a total of 12 laps.
Each loop includes about 300 feet of elevation gain, producing a substantial cumulative climb over the full distance. The route passes through shaded woods and rolling terrain within Forest Park, remaining inside New York City limits.
A fully stocked aid station is located after every lap, offering hydration and nutrition. Volunteers staff the aid stations and provide on-course support. The event lists an 8 hour cutoff for completing all 12 laps.
Practical details note that registration is open with limited space. Bib pickup and a race briefing are part of the event logistics. Weather in late August may include heat, humidity, or sudden rain, and trail shoes are recommended because of the hilly terrain.
The race is organized by a team of New York based ultrarunners who aim to produce grassroots trail events within the five boroughs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
