Dirt Run Irchester Country Park - Round 2

The Dirt Run is a two-round multi-terrain event held at Irchester Country Park and Brigstock Country Park in Northamptonshire. Round 1 at Irchester offers three distance options and uses a single course with different lap counts. Round 2 at Brigstock provides two single-lap distance options and includes a section that passes Lyveden New Bield, a partially completed Elizabethan lodge with gardens, meadows, and water features.

• Round 1 (Irchester): 5 km, 10 km, 15 km
• Round 2 (Brigstock): 7.5 km, 15 km

For Round 1 all runners start together on the same loop: 5 km is one lap, 10 km is two laps, and 15 km is three laps. The Irchester event is run in the uphill direction; the 10 km and 15 km courses include an additional trail section on subsequent laps guiding runners to a route that crosses a roadway and returns to the main path. Round 2 routes are single laps with an out-and-back element on the shorter option.

The terrain mixes trails, paths, and roads and features a notable hill that can be muddy. There are marshals and signage on course. Toilets and paid parking are available in the country parks.
