Irchester Spooktacular

Irchester Spooktacular takes place on 30 October 2026 at Irchester Country Park. It is a Halloween-themed night-time running event with two distances on woodland trails and tracks. Fancy dress is encouraged and marshals in Halloween costumes will be on the course.

• 5k race (trail sections, includes Gulley Steps)
• 2k Family Fun Run (hard standing tracks)

The 2k route follows hard standing tracks and finishes on the grass at Little Meadow. The 5k runs on park trails, incorporates steps and the Gulley Steps, and also finishes on the grass at Little Meadow. Routes are clearly marked with coloured signs: GREEN for the 2k and YELLOW for the 5k. Marshals will guide runners around the course.

Participants must bring a headtorch or handheld torch. The surface is mostly hard packed track and is suitable for road or trail shoes; trail shoes may be preferred for the 5k because of steps and uneven ground. No in-ear headphones are allowed; bone conduction headphones are permitted.

Entry fees are listed as £20 for the 5k and £12 for the 2k. Minimum ages on race day are 11 years for the 5k and 4 years for the 2k; children under 11 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Race numbers and timing chips are collected at registration. There is no baggage storage facility.

Medical cover is provided by Genesis Event Medical Services with access to the course. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal and Halloween-themed treats. Event photos are available free to download. Prize trophies are awarded to the top finishers in each race. Parking is available at the park for £3.50, with free local car parks nearby subject to time limits. Results are chip timed by Sport Systems Ltd. Charitable donations collected on entry are split between the Jubilee Foodbank, Market Harborough, and the Weston Favell Centre Foodbank, Northampton, and will be donated at the end of 2026.
