Salcey Forest Christmas 10k, 5k & Junior Fun Run
The event takes place on Sunday 13 December 2026 at Salcey Forest, Wootton Road, Northampton, NN7 2HX. It is a trail running event held on tree lined paths within the forest.
Distances offered:
- 10k: two laps of the forest route.
- 5k: one lap of the forest route.
- 1.2 km Junior Fun Run.
The course uses mixed terrain forest trails that are described as virtually flat and sometimes muddy. Seasonal fancy dress is welcome and there is a prize for the best seasonal fancy dress outfit. Participants receive a bespoke medal and free photographs; trophies and prizes are presented to leading runners.
The event is raising funds for Shelter, a charity that supports people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Discounted parking is available for runners; the parking charge is noted as £3.80 and covers two hours from the race start. There are no nearby train stations, but bus stops in Hartwell are close to the venue.
