The Dirt Monster is a cross-country style trail event held at North Park, McCandless, Pennsylvania, presented by Jeremiah’s Place. The main race is a 5-mile trail course that starts and finishes near the Grant Pavilion on Wildwood Road, near the intersection with Babcock Boulevard. The course runs along hilly dirt roads and unpaved trails, features a steep hill at about the half-mile mark, includes winding single-track sections, and then returns on wider trails toward the finish. The event also lists a 1-mile trail walk.

Coed teams of 3 to 5 people are allowed; each team must include at least one male and one female. Team scoring uses the fastest male and female times plus one additional time from the team. All team members must register individually and remain eligible for individual awards. Registration closes October 29, 2025. Participants who register by October 17 may order a hoodie for $20; no 2025 race shirt is included with registration and a limited number of past-year shirts may be available on race day for $5. For safety, dogs, strollers, and headphones are not allowed on the full 5-mile course. Volunteers are requested for registration, course support, and finish-line duties; volunteers receive a race shirt. All proceeds support emergency child care services provided by Jeremiah’s Place.
