Paynetown State Recreation Area Trail Run
This event is scheduled for Saturday April 4, 2026 at Paynetown State Recreation Area, 4850 State Hwy 446, Bloomington, IN 47401. The event offers two course distances and course information including maps and GPX files.

The courses use the Pate Hollow Trail adjacent to Paynetown SRA and travel through Hoosier National Forest. The 15K is a single lap intended to feel remote and rugged. The organizer rates the course difficulty as Hills 4 and Surface 4 on a 1 to 5 scale.
Online registration closes on April 1. Entry fees listed are 5K $30 and 15K $35; day of entry adds approximately $10 or more. A DNR gate fee of $7 per vehicle ($9 for out-of-state vehicles) may be charged. A free kids run is offered.
Race rules require the race number to be visible, following the marked trail, courteous communication when passing, and no headphones or dogs. There is no time limit but participants taking longer than 2 1/4 hours may miss awards or experience limited services. Awards are medals for the overall top three in each distance and for top three in each age category. Age groups for male and female are 0-9; 10-12; 13-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+.
