The course is rated Hills 5 and Surface 3 on a 1 to 5 scale. The route begins with an uphill first mile before flattening. The 5K returns on a roughly mile-long downhill to the finish. The 15K turns onto a loop with several long climbs and descents and finishes on the same long downhill as the 5K. Much of the route uses mountain bike trails that will be used the following day for a mountain bike series event.
Entry fees listed are 5K $30 and 15K $35. Day of entry incurs an additional charge and a kids race is free. Online registration closes May 27 at midnight but in-person registration is available on race day.
Race rules require a visible race number on the front, staying on marked trails, courteous communication when passing, and prohibit headphones and dogs. There is no strict time limit, though entrants taking longer than 2 1/4 hours may miss awards or experience limited services. Overall top three per distance and top three in each age group receive medals. No refunds are offered and transfer and cancellation policies apply.
