Multi-Terrain Running in East Devon

The Dalwood 3 Hills returns to Dalwood, East Devon, offering a selection of multi-terrain courses through the local countryside. The event is based at Dalwood Village Hall in Axminster and features routes that incorporate hills, mud, and river crossings.

Participants can choose from three distinct distances:

  • 10 Miles: A route for participants aged 17 and over featuring significant elevation.
  • 5 km: A shorter version of the main route for participants aged 12 and over.
  • 3 km: A family-oriented course through open fields and trails with no age restrictions.

The courses navigate the rural landscape around Dalwood. The 10-mile event is frequently used by runners as a training run for the Grizzly. While the 5 km (Dalwood Dash) maintains the hilly and muddy characteristics of the longer race, the 3 km (Dalwood Doddle) focuses on field and trail sections with less emphasis on elevation.

The event provides different entry tiers for affiliated and non-affiliated runners. Facilities and the event hub are located at the village hall, situated opposite the Tuckers Arms. The terrain is subject to weather conditions, which often result in slippery or wet sections including water crossings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
