CS Lewis 5 Mile Challenge

The CS Lewis 5 Mile Challenge is a measured 5 miles road and trail race that starts and finishes at CS Lewis Square in Belfast. The course follows part of the Connswater Greenway, continues into Victoria Park, and returns to CS Lewis Square. The surface is mixed terrain: approximately 50% road or path, 40% trail, and 10% grass. A timing mat at the start and finish records an accurate chip time for each participant. Water is provided at the finish only.

Entry is by online registration only, entries are non-transferable, and entry is limited to 500 participants. Fees are listed for registered and unregistered athletes, and a race t-shirt is available for optional purchase. Race numbers can be collected from Café Nero, 402 Newtownards Road, Belfast BT4 1HH. The minimum age to take part is 16 years on race day.

Event rules include no in-ear or over-ear headphones except bone conduction devices, no buggies or prams, and no dogs or other pets. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and top three women and to first place in age categories. Limited car parking is available at The Arches Centre and Connswater Retail Park; public transport and shared travel are suggested as alternatives. A forest trail race at Donard Forest Park on 4 June 2026 covering 8 km with 500 m of climb. The partially marked course is organised by Newcastle AC and requires entrants aged 15 or older.

A medium distance fell race of 10 miles with about 2200 ft of ascent near Larne. The course starts and finishes at Cairncastle Primary School and combines road, fells and coastal sections with several checkpoints and limited route marking.

A mountain race in the Hill and Dale series covering 8 km with 800 m of climb on open mountain terrain. The route is anti clockwise and unmarked with a start at Ott Car Park and a minimum age of 15.

Hen & Cock is a Hills and Dales mountain race at Hen Car Park on 18 June 2026. The course is about 5 km with roughly 500 m of climb; participants must be 15 or older and bring full body cover.
