Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run

The Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run takes place at the Devil’s Backbone Open Space in Loveland, Colorado. The event follows a loop-based course primarily on natural surfaces to minimize two-way traffic on the trails. Participants navigate a route that includes the Hidden Valley trail, Hunter Loop, and Laughing Horse Loop.

The course features the following distance:

  • 10 km+

The route begins and ends at the Devil’s Backbone Trail Head parking lot. Flour arrows mark the path for participants. There is one aid station located near the three-mile mark which runners pass twice; this station provides water and electrolyte drinks. Participants requiring additional fluids are encouraged to carry their own hydration packs.

Timing for the event is conducted manually. Upon crossing the finish line, runners receive a stick indicating their overall finishing position, which must be turned in immediately. Registered participants receive a hat featuring a random patch.

Parking is available at the Devil’s Backbone Open Space, though space is limited and a daily pass is required to avoid ticketing. If trail conditions are muddy and the park is closed, registrations are transferred to the following year's event. An awards ceremony follows the run at Loveland Aleworks.
