Crazy Legs Trail Run

Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run : Devil's Backbone Open Space, Loveland, Colorado

The Crazy Legs 10k+ is a trail running event scheduled for June 7, 2026 at Devil's Backbone Open Space in Loveland, Colorado. The course is a loop that begins and finishes in the parking lot at the trailhead and uses several named trails, including Hidden Valley, Hunter Loop, Laughing Horse Loop, and Wild Loop. Course directions are marked on the ground with flour arrows.

Segment distances and routing are described in detail by the organizer. Runners follow a route that includes short connector sections and repeated loop segments, and the course design intentionally limits sections that would require runners to pass each other on the same trail in opposite directions.

There is a staffed aid station near the 3 mile mark that runners will pass twice; the aid station provides water and Gatorade. Volunteers from the Loveland High School Band will staff the station, and the organizer will provide a donation in appreciation. Runners may choose a hat with a random patch. Timing uses an old school method: finishers receive a stick that represents overall placing and must return the stick promptly.

Parking fills quickly so carpooling is recommended. A parking pass for Devil's Backbone Open Space is required or vehicles risk being ticketed. If trails are closed due to muddy conditions, registered runners will be transferred to the following year because the organizer cannot reschedule. The organizer states the 2028 edition will be the final year of this event.
