Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run

Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run was held at Devil's Backbone Open Space in Loveland, Colorado on June 7, 2026. The 2026 edition was announced as the final running of this event and the organizers will not return in 2027. Organizers cited a multi-year decline in registrations and increasing difficulty securing the large number of volunteers required to manage a trail race safely.

The course used a loop layout that begins and ends in the parking lot. After a short 0.1 mile section the route follows Hidden Valley trail for 2.2 miles, then transitions to Hunter Loop, Laughing Horse Loop, and Wild Loop with several short connector sections. The finish is in the Devil's Backbone trailhead parking area. The route is marked with flour arrows and a course map is provided by the organizers.

There is an aid station near the 3-mile mark that runners pass twice; it offers water and Gatorade and is staffed by volunteers from the local high school band. Trail conditions are monitored through Larimer County natural resources; if trails are closed due to muddy conditions the organizer is unable to reschedule the event. Participants receive a hat with a random patch option and a wooden stick is used for informal finish placing and should be returned after the race.
