Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run : Devils Backbone Open Space

The Crazy Legs 10k+ Trail Run is a trail race held at Devils Backbone Open Space, 1725 Hidden Valley Road, Loveland, CO. The course is a looped route that uses several named trails and includes short sections that are run twice. The route is marked with flour arrows and a course map is provided.

There is a single aid station near the 3-mile mark that participants pass twice. The aid station offers water and Gatorade only; additional fluid needs should be carried by participants. The aid station is staffed by volunteers from the Loveland High School Band; a donation is provided to the volunteers.

Parking at the trailhead requires a valid Devil’s Backbone Open Space pass and available parking is limited. If trails are closed because of muddy conditions, registrations will be transferred to the following year rather than rescheduling the event.

Finishers receive an old school timed token in the form of a stick that represents overall placing; runners are asked to return this token after finishing. An awards ceremony is held after the race at Loveland Aleworks. Runners can select a hat with a random patch as part of the event. The race series is planned to continue through 2028, when it will be the final edition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
