Craig Dunain Hill Race

Craig Dunain Hill Race takes place on 14 March 2026 and hosts the 2026 North District Hill Running Championships. The event base is Great Glen House, IV3 8NW, with registration at Leachkin Guides Hall and the race start near Forester's Way.

There is a new route for 2026. Key course details:

  • Senior race: 7 km, 400 m climb.
  • Junior U16/U14: approx 4 km, 200 m climb.
  • Junior U12: approx 2.5 km, 120 m climb.

The course is marked and mainly on good tracks. The senior start is about 500 m from the registration hall; the hall is around 200 m from the event car park. Participants should be prepared to carry full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, whistle, compass and map. Final race instructions will be issued a few days before the event and race maps are available for download.

Facilities and race support include marshals on the junior route, toilets at the Leachkin Guides Hall and post-race refreshments at the hall; participants are asked to bring their own mug. Prize giving will take place after the race and includes open, female and masters categories plus team prizes for North District championships.

Multi-day trail ultramarathon in the Scottish Highlands on 2 and 3 May 2026, offering six distances from 12 km to 110 km. Aid stations are placed about every 10 km and under 23s may enter free.
