Knockfarrel Hill Race
Registration is at Strathpeffer Community Centre. The start is at Blackmuir Woods, about 1 km from the community centre, so entrants should allow time to walk to the start after registering.
The route will be marked and marshals will be positioned at key junctions. The course combines landrover track and footpath and includes sections that are very steep and muddy with tree roots. Weather can affect conditions; a waterproof jacket may be required.
Distance and climb are 8 km and 350 m respectively. Car parking is available at the community centre; there is no parking at the start. Organisers suggest car sharing to reduce environmental impact. Competitors must be aged 18 or over to enter.
Race insurance cover is provided by Scottish Hill Runners. No muddy shoes are allowed inside the hall. Free refreshments will be available at the finish. Prizes are planned for Open and Female categories for first to third places, and for age cohorts 40, 50, 60, and 70, with exact prize numbers confirmed on the day. Competitors who enter as non binary will be considered within the relevant open age category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
