Knockfarrel Hill Race
Registration takes place at Strathpeffer Community Centre. The race start is at Blackmuir Woods, about 1 km from the centre, so participants should allow time to walk to the start. Car parking is available at the community centre; there is no parking at the start.
The course is a marked route with marshals at key junctions. It covers a mixture of landrover track and footpath with some very steep and muddy sections and exposed tree roots. The event distance is 8 km with 350 m of climb.
All competitors must be aged 18 or over to enter. Race insurance cover is provided by Scottish Hill Runners. Weather can affect underfoot conditions, so a waterproof jacket may be required. Runners are asked not to wear muddy shoes inside the hall. Free refreshments are available at the finish.
Prizes are planned for Open and Female categories for 1st to 3rd places, and for age cohorts at 40, 50, 60 and 70 years, with exact numbers of prizes confirmed on the day subject to entries. Competitors may enter as non binary and will then be considered in the relevant open age category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
